After a period of introspection and restructuring, we're thrilled to reconnect with you through our revamped monthly newsletter. This break from some of our regular activities wasn’t just a pause but a crucial step back to fortify the core of our practice.
During the challenging times of COVID-19, my focus was entirely on supporting our clients through unprecedented circumstances. This intense dedication, though well-intentioned, meant that I overlooked our internal efficiencies. When I finally turned my gaze inward, I was startled to find that we were incurring unnecessary expenses, significantly impacting our financial health.
This led to taking out a business loan and implementing tighter financial controls to stabilize our operations. It became clear that the root of the issue lay in not rigorously enforcing and monitoring individual KPIs. By refocusing on these crucial metrics—specifically KPIs for bookkeeping firms—we were able to identify where we faltered and make necessary corrections.
The importance of regularly revisiting and reviewing our internal processes cannot be overstated. It’s akin to a gardener tending to their soil—it’s not the most glamorous job, but it is crucial for the health of the garden. For us, this meant a thorough audit of our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). We needed to ensure that what we measured was still aligned with our evolving goals and values.
